The Section for Geotechnics and Geology is engaged in conducting research within the fields of geotechnical engineering, technical geology, applied geophysics and pavements.

The projects carried out by our research staff can be categorized into the four main research fields, which are further partitioned into sub-fields. Each field has its own page, containing an overview of our current activities:

Geomechanics and basin analysis

  • Sedimentary resources and reservoirs
  • Geomechanics

Geotechnical Engineering

  • Offshore Geotechnics
  • Soil Mechanics
  • Soil-Structure Interaction
  • Tunnelling
  • Rock Mechanics
  • Constitutive Modelling

  • Response Modeling

  • Embedded and Mobile Instrumentation

  • Inverse Analysis of Properties

Frozen ground engineering

  • Permafrost mapping

An overview of our published research may be found under Publications
